End of Season Message from Josh
jr_news.gif    The racing season has ended and what an exceptional year it’s been! I began the year riding for the Conference league Scunthorpe Scorpions and we completed a second consecutive Grand Slam of titles including the League Championship and Knock-out Cup as well as the Trophy and Shield.
On a personal level I maintained my position as top points scorer for the Scunthorpe Scorpions. I also began my first season riding in the Premier League as the Number 7 rider for the Redcar Bears. I rapidly progressed up the team to finish as the clubs third highest point scorer - quite an achievement in my first year!

In March I was the youngest member of the Great Britain Under 21 team that beat Denmark in a Test Match.
In August I went to Germany as part of a five-man Great Britain squad to compete in the World Under 21 Cup Final. It was an honour to represent my country in both these events.

In September I was delighted to sign for the Elite league Coventry Bees Team which was filmed live on Sky Sports. The Coventry Bees have been the Elite League Champions for two out of the past three seasons. I am privileged to be part of such a successful and professional club.

I have also completed my full-time education having achieved 10 GCSE’s - 1 A grade, 5 B grades and 4 C grades. I am pleased to have successfully managed to achieve these GCSE results as well as maintaining my busy racing schedule. At times this proved particularly challenging - balancing study with the necessary commitment required to compete at such a high level.

As the racing season ends I am already looking forward to the challenges of 2008.

Next year I am hoping to establish myself as one of the top Premier League riders as well as hopefully making some Elite league appearances.
I have been approached by teams in Sweden and Poland to take part in trials for their leagues with a view to racing in Europe next year which is something I am really looking forward to.
